MATERNITY JEANS/TROUSERS AND THEIR VARIOUS STYLES

Stretchy over the bump waistband

This style is favoured by many as it is so comfortable and will see you through the whole of your pregnancy, You can wear it pulled up over or rolled down underneath your bump.

Elasticated side panels

Often found on tailored trousers as the panels do not show at the front and make the trouser look more “normal”. The sides will stretch as you grow. This style looks good with tighter fitting tops and office wear.

Elasticated back waistband

Back waistband usually hidden within self-fabric. Great if you don’t want your trousers to look like maternity trousers.

Stretchy under-the-bump waistband

Has a supportive stretch panel that sits under the bump. Gives a secure and comfortable fit. Great if you feel that you want a little help with the extra weight. Make sure you wear some proper maternity tops with these jeans as they are of a longer length and will fully cover your growing bump!

Whatever style of trouser you choose, do make sure that they are comfortable and that they will grow with you. They need to expand just enough; too much and you will be pulling them up all day.

You should be able to stick to your original size as maternity jeans are specifically cut to accommodate your bump. All our styles do this. Please check the guides above. They also contain an element of stretch (lycra, elastane, etc) as other parts of you will get a little bit bigger as well!

All styles can also be worn after the baby arrives and before you get back into those pre-pregnancy skinnies!
